The Review and Amendment Program for the Local Government Code of 1991 (LGC REVAMP) is a nationwide initiative of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in response to evolving challenges and opportunities in local governance. It aims to review, update, and enhance the Local Government Code of 1991 (RA 7160) to make it more responsive to present-day governance challenges, emerging development needs, and the changing roles of local goerment units in nation-building. It puts local government units (LGUs) at the center of governance reforms, ensuring that proposed amendments are grounded on the actual experience, needs, and aspirations of local communities. The program promoted broad stakeholder participation, valuing the insights of LGUs, experts, nd other sectors while using research, studies, and factual data to guide policy recommendations and reforms. Additionally, it encourages partnerships among government agencies, organizations, stakeholders to collectively advance meaningful reforms and build strong support for priority policy amendments.
